Very early the next morning, long before daylight, Jesus got up and left the house. He went out of town to a lonely place, where he prayed.
Mark 1:35–39

Questions for Life Groups

  1. Read Mark 1:35–39 and this week’s Circuit Rider article titled Prayer.
  2. This week, set aside a few minutes each day and sit in silence. No phone. No noise. No agenda beyond being present. Let the quiet feel unfamiliar if it needs to.
  3. Choose one simple prayer to return to when your mind begins to wander. It could be as simple as, “Speak, Lord, I’m listening,” or “Here I am.” Let it anchor you.
  4. And pay attention. Notice what surfaces in the silence—not just around you, but within you. Not to judge it, but to become aware of it.
  5. How can your group members help you be more receptive to hearing and understanding the Word of God this week? Pray for one another to be blessed by the Holy Spirit with greater courage.
