You are invited and your voice is needed in this important conversation about racial inequalities and how we move forward to live in harmony as a community. LUNCH IS PROVIDED.
Flint was selected by the WK Kellogg Foundation to participate in the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) project happening in 13 communities across the country. This coalition seeks to move the nation beyond dialogues about race and ethnicity to unearthing historic and contemporary patterns that are barriers to success, healing those wounds and creating opportunities for all residents, especially our children.
This is a community-based process designed to engage our residents in racial healing and systemic and structural change efforts that address current inequities linked to the belief in a racial hierarchy. This is a multi-year effort designed to engage local, regional and national organizations from both the public and private sectors to explore historic patterns of structural racism, so that we may begin to identify both short-and long-term strategies for meaningful change across the country.
